Please join us January 4-5, 2022, for our first annual Writer's Retreat.

The retreat will be virtual over Zoom, and will consist of two full days of professional workshops, discussions, a writing room, and a showcase, all exploring a variety of genres and perspectives in the writing realm.

The theme for our retreat is, Imua, which, in the native Hawaiian, means "to move forward," or "move ahead." We aim to facilitate generative workshops and discussions that induce a revival of ideas that build upon what has come before, and moving our work forward with new life and perspective. Perhaps you have been considering a particular project, or have left work unfinished and would like to come back to it with a fresh approach. In light of the pandemic, and amongst such uncertainty, writing has served as solace for many of us. Please bring your hearts, minds, and voices and share in this generative community writing space. A post-retreat call for works shall be released after the retreat.

At the end of the two days there shall be a voluntary showcase where participants may share the work they created or refined over the course of the retreat. We encourage all registrants to attend!

We invite all forms of professional and aspiring writers, academics, and students to attend the retreat. Though we are a health sciences-focused institution, we value interdisciplinarity and collaboration amongst faculty and the greater community.

Please find information on our Keynote Speaker, how to register, and an initial offering of events below.
